It’s easy to speed when you’re not used to the speedometer having 0 mph at 6 o’clock vs 7:30.
This has adjustable intermittent wipers in 2008, but the 2014 Taco has still them as an option.
It says I can turn my headlight on and off, but they’re always on no matter what I do. I don’t see a driving light button anywhere.
This center glove box can if freaking huge. That’s a bulbous ipad in there.
This blind spot felt huge at the beginning but you get used to it very quickly. The side mirrors are really wide so they do a great job to help this.
And most importantly: my wife loves her new car.

Why hello there, Abe. I understand you’re new in town.

Does it really rev to 8k?

The Vibe GT with a proper transmission probably could... But this? Hell no.

6400 by the looks of it.

That is what irks me about my works Taco, the wipers suck. Even my ‘95 4Runner has those wipers.

My ‘80 pickup has intermittent wipers as well, if only one setting, but it is an SR5. But still. 34 years later that still wasn’t standard on the Taco? I mean it’s a great pickup but there are some serious cost-cutting decisions on mine.

GM does this for all cars. Auto headlights. There was discussion at the Matrix launch about how a backlit speedometer should require auto-headlights, but this is a GM thing. My 2009 Vibe has auto lights as well and you can’t defeat them, meaning you can only flash high beams at people at night.

My favorite part of the car, the AC plug. Increasingly more common now, but at the time it was fabulously novel.

I love the glovebox, and its curiously place cigarette lighter. And I see you also have the awesome factory power inverter..
And you can never turn off the driving lights. There are guides on the Matrix/Vibe forums on how you can manually control them.

I have 13. 14 if you count the missing key lock on the tailgate

This probably has that many. I quite like the truck though. I think I will do a review of the 270k mile beater.

My wife just got a Vibe as well - bought it from her sister who was headed overseas. So far she finds the clutch a lot different than her Cavalier.

As you can surmise we have the autotragic, though I have danced with the idea of getting a Vibe GT 5-speed for myself possibly...

There’s nothing wrong with an automatic, especially on a daily driver. I think we get too hung up on that around here.

My next car is almost certainly going to be an auto, if it’s not an older Celica. Traffic here blows.

Sure, some automatic transmissions do a lot of hunting for the right gear, but some are pretty good, can shift faster than any human can, can provide better fuel economy, etc. E really do hate on them too much.
